ІХ Business & Legal Energy Forum
The IX Business & Legal Energy Forum took place in Kyiv today where Altelaw acted as the general partner, Olga Savchenko, Senior Partner at Altelaw, moderated the first and third sessions.
The ІХ Business & Legal Energy Forum has become an essential platform for discussing topical issues of Ukraine’s energy sector in times of war.
So it was impressive!

The forum was attended by representatives of the government, and business and energy industry experts. A wide range of issues were discussed at the event: from renewable energy development to distributed generation and energy efficiency.
We would like to thank all the participants of the forum: those who were present in the hall and those who joined online.

The main issues that were highlighted at the forum:
- the need to adapt to new conditions. The war has made significant adjustments to Ukraine’s energy sector. Companies and organizations are forced to look for new solutions to maintain energy security and stability.
- preparing for the heating season. We discussed the challenges associated with ensuring the stable operation of the power system under martial law, as well as the need to develop decentralized generation.
- the development of renewable energy is becoming an increasingly relevant topic in the context of the energy crisis. Experts discussed the opportunities and challenges of solar and wind energy development while paying attention to government support.
- distributed generation. Decentralized electricity generation is seen as one of the core areas of development in the energy sector. Companies are actively investing in their generation capacities, which allows them to ensure energy independence and reduce dependence on centralized grids.
- legislative changes. Experts emphasized the significance of further liberalization of the energy market and simplification of regulatory procedures to stimulate investment in the energy sector.
- international cooperation. Close cooperation with international partners and attraction of foreign investment are necessary to address Ukraine’s energy challenges in an effective way.

Without any doubt, Ukraine’s energy sector is currently undergoing a period of transformation. Despite the challenges posed by the war, there is still significant potential for the development of renewable energy and decentralized generation. Unlocking this potential requires joint efforts of the state, business, and civil society.
The IX Business & Legal Energy Forum has become an important platform for sharing experiences and finding solutions for the development of Ukraine’s energy sector. Experts stress that Ukraine has significant potential for transition to a more sustainable and efficient energy sector.

We are convinced that such events contribute to the development of the industry and strengthen Ukraine’s energy security.
