Altelaw & Sempra Partner Ihor Retivov Elected Head of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) Committee on Energy, Oil, and Gas
Ukraine’s energy sector is undergoing unprecedented transformation: from restoring generation capacity after attacks to deep regulatory modernisation necessary for integration with the European market. In these circumstances, the role of the legal community is to form transparent rules, enhance investment attractiveness, and ensure the sustainability of the energy transition.
Ihor Retivov has worked for many years at the intersection of law and energy, advising on projects involving Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), market participants, and institutional reforms. His election as Head of the UBA Committee is a testament to the high confidence of his colleagues and the recognition of his contribution to the development of the sector.
“In the coming years, we expect intensified regulation in energy markets, the development of mechanisms for decentralised generation, new models for BESS, the digitalisation of procedures, and a greater role for energy security in law-making. The Committee will play a key role in the expert analysis of these changes and in shaping professional discussions,” states the Altelaw & Sempra partner.
