Ihor Retivov, Partner at Altelaw & Sempra, Attended the Annual Forbes Ukraine “Energy of Business” Forum

Ihor Retivov, Partner at Altelaw & Sempra and Head of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association Committee on the Development and Implementation of Energy Storage Systems (ESS), attended the annual “Energy of Business” Forum organized by Forbes Ukraine, which brought together representatives from energy companies, investors, and regulators.

The event served as a key platform for discussing the transformation of Ukraine’s energy sector, preparations for the 2025–2026 winter, and the growing role of business in shaping a new energy ecosystem.

“Businesses in Ukraine are actively investing in their own energy independence—already about 60% of companies have their own generation, predominantly solar. This has essentially launched the ‘energy transition’ and turned a significant portion of enterprises into new participants in the energy market.
At the same time, this transformation brings new challenges: most companies are only beginning their journey in the energy sector and require a deeper understanding of regulatory processes. That is why comprehensive legal support is more critical than ever—from proper regulatory settlement to well-thought-out contractual mechanisms that guarantee stability and protect investments,” noted Ihor Retivov.

Altelaw & Sempra supports the development of professional dialogue between business and the state and consistently promotes the creation of transparent legal conditions for investments in Ukraine’s sustainable energy sector.
