As part of the X Business & Legal Energy Forum, an open interview was held between Olga Sydorchuk, Partner at Altelaw&Sempra, and Oleksandr Novytskyi, Head of the State Inspectorate for Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine (DIAM). The key topic focused on simplifying permitting and regulatory procedures necessary for the restoration of energy construction projects.
“This interview should be of particular interest to the energy sector, as it addresses the issues currently most pressing for the energy market. Looking at DIAM’s work over the past four years, I can see how transparently and openly the Inspectorate communicates with developers. I sometimes even joke: a successful developer is the one who has DIAM’s business card, because cooperation within the framework of the law is the key to results,” — emphasized Olha Sydorchuk.
The dialogue with the Head of DIAM was aimed at clarifying the Inspectorate’s key functions and its role as a service-oriented institution, whose main mission is to simplify existing bureaucratic procedures for business. The discussion highlighted digitalization of construction services, automatic registration of building permits, and simplification of commissioning procedures for completed facilities.
