Webinar titled “Uninterrupted Electricity for Agricultural Enterprises: On-Site Generation, Investments, and Legal Nuances”
Last week, Altelaw&Sempra, in partnership with the Agrarian Union of Ukraine, hosted a webinar titled “Uninterrupted Electricity for Agricultural Enterprises: On-Site Generation, Investments, and Legal Nuances.”
For the agricultural business, a halt in production is not an abstract risk, but a direct financial loss. Therefore, on-site generation, energy storage systems, and hybrid solutions are increasingly becoming not just an option, but a core component of production strategy. However, energy projects in the agricultural sector always entail capital investments, construction, grid connections, and regulatory requirements that must be factored into the financial model before implementation even begins.
Olga Savchenko, Senior Partner at Altelaw&Sempra, and Olga Sydorchuk, Partner at Altelaw&Sempra, discussed the following key topics with the attendees:
- Which on-site generation models actually work for agribusiness, including Solar Power Plants (SPP), SPP paired with Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and small Wind Power Plants (WPP).
- How to approach energy storage systems—whether as a tool for operational stability or as a standalone business project.
- Crucial factors to consider when attracting investments for on-site power supply, illustrated by real-world case studies.
- The key legal phases of constructing and commissioning energy facilities, alongside typical risks that can be mitigated through a proper project structure.
We extend our gratitude to the Agrarian Union of Ukraine for their partnership and to all the attendees for their active participation
